Medical Advocacy Coordinator

About Us
Laurel House is dedicated to ending domestic violence and empowering survivors through advocacy education and comprehensive support services. Our Medical Advocacy Program connects with medical professionals and healthcare facilities throughout Montgomery County to provide training resources and direct support for survivors.
Position Overview
As the Medical Advocacy Coordinator you will develop and deliver training on domestic violence screening tools resources and response strategies to healthcare professionals substance abuse programs and behavioral health facilities. You will also serve as an Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Specialist at CHOP King of Prussia providing onsite support and training.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain partnerships with hospitals behavioral health facilities and other medical providers to promote domestic violence awareness and intervention. Develop and facilitate domestic violence training for medical personnel including allied health professionals and substance abuse treatment providers. Provide onsite crisis response and advocacy when called by patients or staff at healthcare facilities. Serve as Laurel Houses representative for PCADV (Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence) medical advocacy initiatives. Support community outreach efforts by attending committees events and trainings. Assist in maintaining accurate data and reporting for funding applications and program evaluation. Contribute to marketing and website content related to medical advocacy initiatives. Train Laurel House staff and volunteers on medical issues related to domestic violence. Research and develop and present presentations on the intersection of medical trauma and domestic violence.
What Were Looking For
Experience in training or public speaking preferably within healthcare or social services. Ability to build relationships with diverse professionals and advocate for domestic violence survivors. Strong crisis response skills and the ability to work independently. Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Experience in training healthcare providers is a plus! Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent written/verbal communication skills. A valid drivers license auto insurance and reliable transportation for travel throughout Montgomery County and to state conferences. Passion for domestic violence advocacy and survivorcentered support.
