Job Description
Paramedic
High level emotional intelligence

Ability to interact with men and women of all ages and maturity levels of staff/customers
Assist with care for sick or injured campers and staff on a daily basis
Respond to and/or assist with emergencies as they occur
Assist with mental health first aid when necessary
Assist with opening and closing procedures in the Summit Health Lodge
OnCall Rotation
Maintain a clean organized inspected neat and safe work area
Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership
Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Abide by the Summit Health Lodge Policies and Procedures
18 years of age or older
Required: Emergency Medical Technician Certification and valid NREMT Certification
Required: Able to obtain WV State EMT Certification (Provided)
Required: CPR and First Aid Certification
Required training: HazMat Bloodborne Pathogens Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)
Beneficial: Mental Health First Aid Certification
Strong Communication Skills
Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination
Be or become a registered member of Scouting America
Must have a valid driver license and ability to obtain SBR Driver Permit (provided)
Provide positive experiences for patients in high stress situations
Offer suggestions and improvements for department with your own ideas
EMTs should be able to lift at least 100 pounds push at least 50 pounds and have the stamina endurance and flexibility to repeatedly lift bend and kneel
Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements HERE
