The Ballot Specialist Lead acts as a lead for the ballot proofing team to ensure that ballot text is accurate and complete. They work under the Tabulation Manager to ensure that ballot language is submitted in a timely manner and they are responsible for creating textual and cosmetic ballot proofs for review and they work with the Tabulation Analyst Leads to complete the setup and coding of the tabulation system testing of election equipment (pre & post) and assist with endofday and endofelection reporting building.

We Require
Three years of experience in performing office administrative and clerical duties
High school diploma
An equivalent combination of postsecondary education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements on a yearforyear basis
Must be registered or eligible to register to vote in the state of Arizona

Experience in testing and operating election equipment and software
Job Contributions
Works with the Tabulation Manager Tabulation Analyst Leads and vendors on the setup and coding process of all tabulation equipment and results loading which includes accessible ballot marking device (BMD) setup precinctbased tabulators and central count tabulators
Acts as lead in the testing of election equipment which includes marking test ballots performing manual testing of equipment loading and testing of inhouse supported software applications
Performs endofday tabulation reports that include final and endofelections report building for the canvass
Assists with Pre and PostElection Logic & Accuracy (L&A) testing performed inhouse the hand count audit batch tabulation preparation preelection setup of electronic voter checkin equipment and postelection maintenance on all tabulation equipment
Acts as a lead for the ballot proofing team
Acts as shift lead during the ballot tabulation and assists Tabulation Analyst Leads with the setup and management of the adjudication and duplication systems and processes. Manages temporary staff serving on citizen boards
Assists in management of temporary workers (citizen boards) during the election cycles; including: training day to day operations and shift scheduling
Creates training materials for Adjudication and other areas as needed
Works with Tabulation Manager to build ballots by reviewing items that need to be included in ballot and working on election management system to ensure election program meets all requirements
Working Conditions
Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
This position is eligible for hybrid flexibility after a brief training period
Must successfully complete and maintain the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Office Certification
Must complete a signature comparison class
Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire a valid Arizona drivers license
Must complete a thorough background screening
Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. and move 80 lbs. for a minimum distance of 20 feet
Ability to stand for extended periods operating electronic tabulation equipment during election cycles
Ability to use a pallet jack
Extensive mandatory overtime during election cycles
