The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Applications Programmer Analyst II in the Information Technology Department! This position offers the opportunity for broad exposure to the City of Berkeleys technology systems including enterprise and businesslevel applications business intelligence and reporting systems as well as data warehousing and GIS solutionsall critical to the efficient functioning of City of Berkeley operations. In this role you will act as a technical liaison between IT and various City departments including Public Safety among others translating business requirements into technological solutions.
See the full job specification here: QUALIFICATIONSA typical way of gaining the knowledge skills and abilities outlined above is:
Equivalent to graduation from a fouryear college or university with major coursework in computer science mathematics business administration or a closely related field and two 2 years of professional experience in systems design and analysis systems integration and/or programming of applications for computer systems. Experience in systems design and analysis systems integration and/or programming of applications for computer systems may be substituted for the education requirement on a yearforyear basis.
In addition to the qualifications mentioned above the ideal candidate will have a combination of technical and business acumen to navigate the wide array of projects and issues and resolve them.

The exam process will include but may not be limited to:
Tests may consist of any combination of written oral or other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include but are not necessarily limited to typing math reading writing and analytical skills; problem solving ability; computer and software proficiency or any other jobrelated knowledge skill ability or qualification.
