About Midlake Products & Mfg Co
Were a growing dynamic metal fabrication company that serves a diverse range of industries from hightech to heavy industrial. We have a team of dedicated engineers and a growing customer base. Were looking to elevate our engineering capabilities and are seeking a Vice President of Engineering. who is passionate about manufacturing process improvement and building a forwardthinking engineering department.
The Role
As VP of Engineering youll lead all engineering efforts across our operations including design process improvement and technical support our internal and external customers. Youll serve as a key member of the leadership team and play a critical role in shaping the future of our engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the engineering department and oversee daytoday technical operations
- Provide technical support for internal customers in sales production and quality
- Lead and develop a highperforming team of engineers
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and documentation
- Collaborate closely with sales operations and quality to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
- Implement and improve CAD workflows and designformanufacturability principles
- Lead engineering change processes
- Stay handson where needed: this role requires both strategy and action
- Evaluate and implement engineering software and automation tools
- Develop KPIs for engineering performance and support companylevel metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 10 years of engineering experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership and teambuilding experience
- Deep knowledge of metal fabrication processes (laser cutting forming welding etc.
- Experience with SolidWorks AutoCAD or similar design tools
- Strong understanding of engineering documentation workflows
- A balance of strategic thinking and handson
- Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence
