Schedule: Hours between Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.

By fusing a biopsychosocialspiritual treatment model with medically managed therapies our intensive outpatient programs provide rapid access rapid resolution and rapid return to work and healthy lifestyle programs for anxiety depression addiction posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) trauma and chronic pain.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our innovative purposedriven and multidisciplinary clinical team as an independent contractor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services you will perform assessments in vivo exposure accelerated resolution therapy (ART) group facilitation return to work (RTW) planning and 11 occupational therapy treatment for a range of mental health conditions. You will work with clients in our WCB Alberta Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Flex programs while collaborating with members of the clinics multidisciplinary team to achieve positive client outcomes. Youll collaborate closely with colleagues as well as stakeholders such as thirdparty funders. Youll work in a fastpaced environment as an integral member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team while sharing our core values of communication community excellence health and innovation.

Clientcentered Care Accountabilities

  • Provide individual trauma therapy.
  • Conduct efficient and effective clinical client assessments (mental health history risk assessment trauma and activities of daily living).
  • Facilitate psychoeducation groups (based on ACT InVivo Exposure sleep education DBT skills mindfulness and other psychoeducation topics).
  • Provide resourcebased interventions case management and coordination transition or discharge planning occasionally.
  • Assist in grounding and reflection posttreatment.
  • Demonstrate expertise and skills to support clients presenting with:
    • PostTraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
    • Major Depressive Disorder
    • Personality disorders
    • Psychological injury
    • Chronic pain management
    • Return to work barriers

Team Collaboration Accountabilities

  • Participate in weekly case consultations and complex case discussions with an interdisciplinary team.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary model with other therapists by sharing a client caseload.
  • Communicate with other clinicians on a regular basis about any successes and any concerns related to client care.
  • Attend relevant clinical meetings including but not limited to WCB IOP Flex and other programs.
  • Engagement in professional consults and supervision.

Administrative Accountabilities

  • Ensure sameday completion of session notes.
  • Complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide reporting to thirdparties and community referral sources.
  • Communicate with employers and/or case managers effectively.

Community Advocacy

  • Participate in mental health promotion activities and contribute to establishing and maintaining mental health and addictions community resources.

Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience

  • A minimum of two 2 years of experience supporting clients with mental health conditions including assessment/triage and treatment is required.
  • Experience supporting first responders is an asset.
  • Experience working with thirdparty funders is an asset.

Equivalencies may be considered.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Training certificates in trauma therapy specifically Prolonged Exposure Therapy and/or Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) are an asset.

Professional Registration/Designation

  • An active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) is required.
  • Professional liability insurance is required.

Technical Competences

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Teams is required. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is also required.

Background Check
