About St. Thomas University and the Academy

St. Thomas University guided by its Catholic identity and commitment to justiceservice and human dignity houses the John Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy within the Benjamin L. Crump College of Law. The Academy is a leader in education training and policy development in the global fight against human trafficking. We work to empower professionals and communities to create survivorcentered responses through interdisciplinary programming and highimpact advocacy.

Position Summary

The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the missiondriven work of the JohnJ. Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy. Reporting to the Program Coordinator the Assistant is responsible for a wide range of administrative operational and communications tasks. Thisposition supports the planning and of educational programs outreach efforts and high level logistical coordination contributing to the Academys national and international impact in antitrafficking work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for daytoday Academy operations
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of trainings events and workshops
  • Manage scheduling communication and logistics for speakers and participants
  • Prepare and format materials using tools such as Microsoft Office Canva and Adobe
  • Coordinate travel accommodation and payment documentation for Academy guests
  • Maintain records filing systems and internal documentation
  • Manage the Academys digital communications including email campaigns website updates and Constant Contact
  • Design promotional materials including flyers brochures and digital content
  • Track event registrations and participant engagement
  • Respond to inquiries via phone and email in a professional manner
  • Supervise graduate fellows and student volunteers as assigned
  • Serve as liaison with university departments and external partners
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Director

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and two 2 years of relevant office or administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience using digital platforms such as Canva Constant Contact and Adobe
  • Commitment to the mission of social justice and human dignity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education nonprofit or human rights organizations
  • Familiarity with WordPress and basic graphic design tools (Photoshop InDesign)
  • Experience in communications marketing or event coordination
