EC2 Networking at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is crucial for Amazons longterm success as a technology services company. The EC2 Networking team is looking for a Software Development Engineer II to build deliver and maintain complex products that delight our customers and raise our performance bar. You will design faulttolerant systems that run at massive scale as we continue to innovate bestinclass services and applications in the AWS Cloud you will have the opportunity to deliver high quality technology products/services in a hypergrowth environment.

We are a core team in AWS EC2 organization to enable critical services that underpin the network. As a SDE for VPC you will be responsible for influencing and shaping the direction of our services as well as working on a new initiative. You will define plan and execute on deliverables that drive game changing improvements for internal and external customers alike. Your responsibilities will include:
Design implementation deployment and maintenance of innovative software solutions to deliver new features in performance cost availability.
Use software engineering best practices to ensure the standard of quality of all team deliverables.
Build and implement high quality distributed system software.
Work in an agile development environment prioritizing most important and impactful projects.

Utility Computing (UC)
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazons Simple Storage Service (S3 and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2 to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWSs services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization youll support the development and management of Compute Database Storage Internet of Things (Iot) Platform and Productivity Apps services in AWS including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services. Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures and were building an environment that celebrates knowledgesharing and mentorship. 3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
