Position Summary

The Assistant Suites Manager will actively assist the Suites Manager in aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive harmonious compliant and cooperative work environment as well as coach and mentor. The Assistant Suites Manager must provide a high level of event oversight technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth running of any assigned event.

This is a key position for the effective operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable eventdriven schedule which to include evenings and weekends. Open availability professional presentation outstanding interpersonal skills selfdirection and strong technical (computer and POS) aptitude required.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $26.00$29.00.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the overall effective management of Catering operations.
  • Must demonstrate ability to develop read and comprehend Banquet Event Orders.
  • Responsible for full knowledge of the food and beverage menu and sharing the knowledge with staff as well as the guests including ingredients portion sizes pricing and preparation.
  • Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies.
  • Monitors alcohol service throughout event to assure 100 compliance with Alcohol Service policies.
  • Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately.
  • Provides ongoing direction supervision and mentoring to hourly event staff.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure high level of guest service.
  • Assists in troubleshooting technical problems with Point of Sale Systems from both a hardware and software perspective.
  • Assist with the troubleshooting of any food service equipment issues when found.
  • Report ongoing concerns to the Suites Manager.
  • Maintains sanitation health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Assist in the ongoing training development mentoring and supervision of hourly employees as directed by department managers.
  • Responsible for evaluating designated spaces after each Event for proper cleanliness and Inventory levels.
  • Assist in the management of catered events from setup to tear down including handling all communication with hourly staff culinary staff and guests.
  • Assist Suite Manager with administrative duties including monthly inventory.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree (A.A. or equivalent from twoyear College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and training in Fine Dining Catering/Banquets and/or Event Operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in a fastpaced food and beverage environment
  • Nationally recognized advanced food service sanitation training course certification. (ServSafe)
  • Familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning.
  • Basic computer proficiency: Email Excel Word Outlook Schedule.
  • Working knowledge of Point of Sale systems
  • Basic math skills including significant number manipulation.
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends as required) depending upon event and business requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
