As a System Development Engineer on the Central RME Amazon Robotics Portfolio Team you will be at the forefront of developing and supporting software systems that drive the maintenance reliability and operations of Amazons global fleet of robotics. Youll be the primary point of contact for internal customers and partners bridging the gap between field operations and engineering teams.
In this dynamic role youll create innovative solutions to improve robot availability performance quality and costeffectiveness across our vast network. Youll dive deep into data from various sources including databases PLCs sensors and maintenance records to identify improvement opportunities and drive datainformed decisionmaking.
Your work will directly impact hundreds of thousands of robotic assets across Amazons global network ensuring optimal performance and availability. Youll balance business needs with technical constraints striving to find the right solutions while maintaining a strong focus on standards scalability and supportability. Amazons global network. You will frequently travel to various facilities in North America and Europe
Key job responsibilities
Develop cloudbased data tools analytics and reporting systems to optimize robotics operations
Create and deploy proofofconcept and minimum viable products for field testing
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and AWS CDK
Implement proactive issue detection monitoring and reporting systems
Leverage automation ML and AI to drive insights and scale team efficiency
Document system designs runbooks and internal processes
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to improve robotics maintenance and reliability
Analyze largescale data from various sources to identify improvement opportunities
Participate in failure analysis and incident review processes
Engage customers to understand and document business requirements
Drive problems to root cause and manage implementation programs for corrective actions
Recommend alternative technical approaches and direct crossfunctional efforts to meet timelines

Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelors degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
Experience in automating deploying and supporting infrastructure
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
Experience with Linux/Unix
Ability to travel up to 25 to various sites globally
Experience leveraging generative AI in software development
Familiarity with AWS services SDK and CDK
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Knowledge of design patterns reliability and scaling techniques
Proficiency in SQL and data analysis using Python or R
Experience with machine learning and AI technologies
Background in robotics automation or largescale distributed systems
Strong problemsolving and analytical abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Understanding of industrial automation including robotics system components/controls HMI components and motion control
Experience with databases data pipelines and integration of disparate data platforms/systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
