Senior Accounting Associate
We are seeking a handson Senior Accounting Associate to join our rapidly growing Outsourced Accounting Solutions (OAS) team. We are looking for an individual with general business knowledge and advanced bookkeeping skills to support our clients. The position requires work within the Wojeski office and at various client locations around the Capital District of New York State.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports OAS operations by monitoring and approving financial processing reporting and supervising staff
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare trial balances for monthend/quarterend review
- Demonstrate knowledge of the general ledger and make journal entries
- Record daily transactions and properly post to the general ledger
- Invoice and properly record payments and accounts receivable
- Manage accounts payable and weekly check disbursements
- Coach clients with tasks and issues that arise in the accounting function of their businesses
- Create and track classes in QuickBooks
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent is required
- Associates or bachelors degree in business or accounting is preferred
- 2 to 3 years relevant supervisory experience
- 3 to 5 years relevant bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop QuickBooks Online and Office 365 products (especially Excel)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Advanced understanding of the balance sheet and profit and loss statement
- Ability to manage multiple projects and staff members for different types of clients in a fastpaced environment
- Ability to learn quickly and work both independently and as a team member to complete tasks
- Meticulous attention to detail and followthrough
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to interact with clients
- Knowledge of business organizational structures
- Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll taxes
