Make a difference as a Structural Steel Estimator
As a new Structural Steel Estimator at MetCon Inc. you can expect each day to be filled with excitement and new challenges. You will work closely with our project management team architects and clients to gather project specifications and evaluate structural steel requirements. Armed with your keen eye for detail and expertise in construction materials you will perform takeoffs and create accurate estimates.
Your daytoday tasks will include reviewing project drawings and specifications conducting site visits to assess the scope of work and collaborating with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and availability information. You will utilize your problemsolving skills to identify potential issues and propose innovative solutions. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday working in the office is preferred but remote work is possible based on the candidate fit.

Would you be a great Structural Steel Estimator
To excel as a Structural Steel Estimator at MetCon Inc. you will need a combination of technical expertise and a strong attention to detail. Proficiency in industryspecific software and tools is essential to succeed in this role. As a successful candidate you will have experience working with estimating software such as Bluebeam OnScreen Takeoff or Planswift. These tools will enable you to accurately analyze project drawings perform takeoffs and create estimates efficiently.
In addition a solid understanding of construction materials building codes and industry standards is crucial. You should be familiar with structural design principles and have the ability to interpret complex project specifications and blueprints. Strong communication skills are also essential as you will be working closely with project managers architects and vendors. The ability to collaborate effectively and clearly convey information is key to ensuring accurate estimates and successful project outcomes.
