Role/ Department:

Our fixed Income and derivatives traders collate and distribute flows morning headlines monitor and report on global financial markets macroeconomic and credit specific news to internal partners and portfolio managers to ensure a continuous flow of information.

The traders are tasked with trading all agency client orders and are responsible for delivering a characteristic hightouch client focused service.

The traders need an advanced understanding of trading technology including the various platforms and strategies available and when to employ them.

They also understand market structure and add value by using multiple liquidity sources in order to provide best to customers in line with global regulations.

They are expected to understand the firms trade reporting requirements. The traders act as risk managers and ensure that no positions are carried overnight particularly in the event of an error. They are expected to keep up to date with changing regulations and should be compliant at all times.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Receive confirm and understand instructions for client orders for our outsourced institutional and Transition Management clients.
  • Execute fixed Income and derivatives orders across global markets on behalf of our domestic and global institutional clients via platforms alternative liquidity providers and our wide panel of counterparties.
  • Follow Best principals and strategies to minimize the cost of trade implementation.
  • Liaise closely with Internal partners and portfolio managers globally on trading strategies and general updates on performance and market trends.
  • Working directly with our broker panel and our technology vendors to maintain both excellence and best .
  • Understand the market structure of each market we trade in detail.
  • Build and maintain strong sellside relationships.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of applicable regulatory rules and responsibilities.
  • Ensures that appropriate enabling documentation is in file and that appropriate procedures and conventions (i.e. levels of collateral etc. are followed.
  • Become familiar with the systems we use and contribute ideas as we evolve and strive for better process and efficiency.
  • Take leading role in trading projects such as developing OTC derivatives capabilities.


Skills / Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of investments and the financial markets.
  • Proven experience preferably in a buy side fixed Income and derivatives trading environment as a trader or portfolio manager demonstrating knowledge of the different instrument types. Fixed IncomeGlobal Rates Credit Emerging MarketsDerivatives Global Equity and Fixed income Futures and Options.
  • Experience in trading OTC derivatives including interest rate swaps total return swaps and CDS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis basic statistics and accounting.
  • Analytical and computer literacy skills.
