The Role:
Join CDK Global as our Director of Enterprise Reporting & Analytics where youll lead the transformation of our data landscape into actionable business intelligence. Reporting to the Senior Director of Enterprise Analytics and Data youll drive our BI strategy across Power BI Tableau and Cognos platforms while building and mentoring a highperforming analytics team. This role combines strategic leadership with handson expertise to deliver impactful reporting solutions that enable datadriven decisionmaking across all business units.
The ideal candidate brings 10 years of progressive analytics experience with deep technical knowledge of enterprise BI platforms and a proven track record of translating complex data into actionable insights for executive audiences.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise Reporting and Analytics strategy for CDK Global ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and data strategy
- Define the roadmap for BI platform utilization evolution and consolidation where appropriate focusing on Power BI Tableau and Cognos
- Manage and prioritize team delivery balancing adhoc requests standard reporting dashboard development and strategic projects
- Lead crossfunctional collaboration with business units IT Data Engineering and Data Governance to understand needs define requirements and deliver impactful analytics solutions
- Develop and mentor a highperforming Reporting and Analytics team fostering a culture of analytical curiosity continuous learning and professional growth
- Promote career development within the analytics function supporting diverse skill sets in report development data visualization and business analysis
- Ensure the reporting and analytics strategy enables effective performance monitoring and insight generation across the organization
Reporting & Analytics Capabilities:
- Oversee the endtoend lifecycle of BI solutions (dashboards reports visualizations) development across key platforms: Power BI Tableau and Cognos
- Establish and enforce best practices and standards for data visualization report design and dashboard development to ensure clarity consistency and user adoption
- Guide the requirements gathering process ensuring business needs are accurately translated into effective technical specifications for reporting solutions
- Ensure the accuracy quality and timeliness of data presented in reports and dashboards collaborating with data governance and data engineering on data quality issues
- Champion and support selfservice analytics initiatives providing users with the tools training and curated datasets needed to explore data independently
- Oversee the administration governance and optimization of BI environments (Power BI Service Tableau Server/Cloud Cognos Analytics) in partnership with IT/platform teams
- Lead the reporting and analytics team managing workload providing technical guidance and ensuring highquality deliverables
- Manage relationships with BI software vendors (Microsoft Salesforce/Tableau IBM/Cognos) as needed staying informed on product roadmaps and capabilities
Performance Monitoring:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and adoption of reporting and analytics solutions (e.g. usage statistics user satisfaction report performance)
- Monitor the performance accuracy and relevance of existing reports and dashboards implementing processes for regular review and decommissioning
- Drive the of user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation activities to ensure BI solutions meet business requirements and quality standards
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation in report generation distribution and data refresh processes
Executive Communication & Business BuyIn:
- Communicate the value proposition and impact of reporting and analytics initiatives to senior leadership and key stakeholders at CDK Global
- Present key insights trends and performance summaries derived from BI solutions to executive audiences
- Ensure reporting and analytics solutions are aligned with stakeholder needs and provide actionable information for decisionmaking
- Foster strong relationships with business leaders to understand their challenges and proactively identify opportunities for analytical support
- Develop and implement strategies including training programs to drive adoption of BI tools (Power BI Tableau Cognos) and enhance data literacy across the organization
- Ensure crossfunctional collaboration enables effective use of reporting assets and adherence to defined standards
- Lead crossfunctional collaboration with EIT Finance Customer Ops and Business leaders to support enterprise information needs and drive a unified approach to reporting and analytics
Process Improvement:
- Continuously refine the reporting and analytics development lifecycle (from request intake to deployment and maintenance) to improve efficiency agility and quality
- Identify and implement improvements in requirements gathering documentation testing and release management for BI solutions
- Optimize the performance of critical reports and dashboards across Power BI Tableau and Cognos
- Standardize reporting templates definitions and methodologies where appropriate to enhance consistency and reduce redundancy
Thought Leadership:
- Explore and assess emerging trends and technologies in business intelligence data visualization augmented analytics and storytelling with data
- Stay ahead of industry best practices and advancements within the Power BI Tableau and Cognos platforms and ecosystems
- Advocate for innovative approaches to delivering insights and enhancing the user experience with analytical tools
- Promote a culture of datadriven decisionmaking throughout CDK Global
Required Qualifications and Attributes:
- 10 years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence Reporting and/or Data Analytics with at least 7 years of people leadership experience managing analytics or BI teams
- Deep expertise and significant handson leadership experience with major enterprise BI platforms: Microsoft Power BI Tableau and IBM Cognos Analytics. This includes understanding architecture concepts development best practices security models and administration fundamentals for each
- Proven experience developing and implementing enterprisewide BI strategies and roadmaps in a large complex organization
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices with a portfolio demonstrating impactful report and dashboard design.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts data modeling principles (dimensional modeling) and ETL/ELT processes as they relate to supporting BI solutions
- Excellent communication presentation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences including senior executives
Salary Range: $200000 $250000
CDK Global is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Compensation packages are based on several factors including but not limited to skills experience certifications and work location.
