Job Description
MGC Contractors Inc. is a 100 Employee Owned Corporation. We specialize in all forms of water and wastewater general contracting including Job Order Contracting Construction Manager at Risk DesignBidBuild and DesignBuild throughout Arizona Texas Utah and New Mexico.
We are currently looking for and experience Estimator.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Participation in all aspects of the bid/estimating process including reviewing plans and specs soliciting and negotiating prices.
- Work as part of a team as well as cultivate relationships with subcontractors suppliers owners architects and engineers.
- Estimating support for Projects
- Assists in the pricing and bidding of projects.
- Actively participates in the estimate review process.
- Collects and maintains bid information for future reference.
- Keep current with the latest estimating technology and techniques.
- Any and all other duties assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 10 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies office machinery etc.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a fulltime position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand. Occasional Travel may be required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Proficient with estimating software such as Hard Dollar preferred.
- Background in water/wastewater industry preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) required.
- Strong computer and communication skills required.
- Ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Must be a selfstarter and be able to work with little to no supervision.
- Must be fluent in English i.e. must be able to speak read and write English
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Engineering or related Major preferred.
- At least 1 years of related experience required.
