Job Description

The Residential Program Leader is in a leadership role in the CRC program. He/she communicates directly with shift supervisors to lead campus programming maintain safety fulfill documentation requirements support resident treatment plans integrated guidance plans and support cottage staff as assigned. The RPL does not have a regular assigned cottage but rather supports campus tone safety milieu schedule and programming and the resident and staff needs. The RPL can direct treatment specialists during the shift to maintain safety and to lead in a manner that reflects current expectations and supervisor directives. He/she is to act as a liaison between cottages ensuring that communication is effective efficient clear and timely during each shift supervised. The RPL is required to be skilled at building resident relationships deescalating residents and communicating with others in a manner that shows emotional intelligence.

Jobspecific essential functions include the following:

  • TEAM FIRST: Makes every effort to maintain a team first spirit and atmosphere within the workplace environment maintaining appropriate working relationships and promoting collaboration.
  • Utilizes Safe Crisis Management (SCM) deescalation and restraint techniques according to agency policy/procedures when needed including safely restraining a child of any size.
  • Responsible for meeting many basic physical and emotional needs of the residents including providing supervision limit setting participating in weekly team meetings social training meal preparation medical attention hygiene training clothing needs creating a safe and orderly environment and facilitating recreation. Transports residents to scheduled appointments as needed.
  • Completes incident reports logs and other various forms according to licensing expectations. Provides safe vehicle operation and reports any vehicle needs when appropriate turn in maintenance requests as needed or as directed by shift supervisor.
  • Maintains child and campus safety by providing support and supervision of residents at all times including but not limited to school hours recreational time and searching/chasing a runaway child.
  • In conjunction with the Shift Supervisors and the Clinical Team the RPL is responsible for the tone and operation of campus. This includes adhering to the clinical and milieu programming and curriculum maintaining a traumainformed and traumasensitive environment and being a Christian leader for the CRC campus and setting the spiritual tone for the kids and staff.
  • Assists CRC staff with program transitions and campus movement of residents as well as facilitating program activities and campus events as assigned.
  • Facilitates Fellowship Wednesday SPARKS RAT Pack and Fun Friday which includes planning budgeting and providing transport for incentive outings and activities.

  • Assists with cottage and campus coverage during meeting times as assigned.
  • Supports client treatment and clinical team by facilitating and billing for group and individual as assigned.
  • Supports shift supervisor by collecting paperwork tracking times and occurrence of reportable incidents supporting and monitoring use of SCM techniques communicating incidents needing campus supervisor approval or guidance as assigned.
  • Provides one on one resident care as assigned.
  • Provides guidance and support to new hires as assigned.
  • Provides transportation of clients and injured staff members as assigned.
  • Ensures campus is free of debris and trash while on shift by walking residential campus area regularly.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of treatment plans engagement plans and program expectations. Maintains strict confidentiality of all records in compliance with HIPAA. Communicates effectively with the team/other staff both verbally and in writing regarding treatment progress planning decisions problems etc. Fills out all appropriate logs reports and forms. Attends meetings as needed and shares observations about resident issues such as peer problems moods preferences sleep patterns and family relationships.
  • Assists with visitations greet guests checks residents for contraband help to evaluate childs emotional and physical needs before during and after visitation for both weekday and weekend visitation times. This responsibility is shared with the other supervisors on campus and assigned Treatment Specialists.
  • Observes staffs work ethic and communication with kids and each other facilitates resolution of conflicts in the cottage with kids/and or staff. Inspects cottage to ensure that sanitary and safety needs are met.
  • Attends all required trainings for the RPL position and maintain any credentials needed.
  • Works the scheduled hours provided by the Program Manager as directed by leadership to include working 4 tenhour shifts on 2nd Shift or 1st Shift. Hours for this position are subject to change based on coverage and program needs. RPLs will rotate through the cottages and be available by radio to assist where needed.
  • Attends group supervision and individual supervision twice a month with CRC Program Manager.
  • Implements and maintains REACH program with clients.
  • Conducts initial resident orientation in order to encourage engagement.

Other duties may be assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.


REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read speak and understand the English language and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including conflict resolution required. Must be able to communicate well with colleagues verbally and in writing to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to apply common sense. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Competency with a personal computer and familiarity with Outlook Teams and Word.
  • Ability to function well in a fastpaced environment as well as cope and tolerate high levels of stress.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Either three years of working at CCHO or bachelors degree required for billing purposes.
  • Experience working in residential treatment and deescalation preferred.
  • Valid Ohio Drivers License and a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable on agency policy as job includes occasional travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently required to walk sit talk and hear including a requirement to stand or walk for extended periods of time sometimes through uneven terrain.
  • Often required to use hands/fingers handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to be outdoors in various weather conditions for extended amounts of time.

  • Must be able to drive a vehicle legally and safely in the state of Ohio.
  • Must maintain compliance/certification with CCHOs requirements for using physical restraints (SCM: Safe Crisis Management) including sufficient strength and completion of extensive training. Physical ability to respond to crisis including but not limited to running and performing physical restraints.

CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (CQI): All Agency staff are expected to focus on Quality improvement as a part of their job responsibilities in an effort to make the Agency a safe and healing environment for clients and staff. This expectation includes but is not limited to teamwork improving service delivery fulfilling department goals and other jobspecific tasks that encourage excellence.

This position is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and drug test satisfactory reference checks (emails were previously sent to the 3 references listed on your application) as well as the completion of a satisfactory Department of Justice National Sex Offender search and Ohio Alleged Perpetrator Search as required by our licensing agency.
