Wage Range: $52298 to $70756 annually; based on years of transferrable experience and internal equity

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant works in conjunction with the CFO Controller and other financial services personnel to report RiverStone Healths financial activities and performs other related work as necessary.

Essential Functions/Major Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Program Management 35

  • Assess program and client needs and ensure that program objectives are met.
  • Work with Fiscal Services and program managers to identify program and service needs.
  • Identify suggest or implement improvements to fiscal programs and services.
  • Review interpret and monitor compliance to fiscal guidelines laws and regulations.
  • Prepare fiscal reports.
  • Keep immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.
  • Attend conferences workshops and training sessions; review publications and audiovisual materials as needed to remain up to date and knowledgeable regarding standard accounting principles and practices as well as new developments in assigned work areas (e.g. Federal grants management guidelines and requirements).

B. Accounting Duties 60

  • Assist with financial transactions including but not limited to general ledger entries account reconciliations monthend close procedures monthend contract invoicing expenditure reports and daily bank deposits.

  • Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.

  • Verify validity and accuracy of accounting source documents.

  • Prepare and submit grant or contract funding reimbursement requests to outside funders providing proper documentation to ensure prompt payment.

  • Review financial transactions and accounting of grant disbursements to ensure ongoing compliance with federal and state accounting and procurement standards.

  • Regularly update accounting records with details pertaining to revenue and itemized expenses to ensure accurate financial information and meet various financial regulations.

  • Together with other fiscal service team members assist outside auditors on audit requests reports and inquiries.

  • Prepare and review financial information that supports programs across the organization. Complete special reports and other documentation support detail as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the RiverStones mission and goals.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelors Degree in finance accounting or closely related field.

  • Two years of financial management or accounting experience.

  • Demonstrated business development and computerbased financial systems experience.

  • Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in finance accounting or closely related field

  • 5 years of financial management experience

  • CPA and/or MBA or advanced finance degree depending upon needs of the organization.

  • Experience with or knowledge of Medicare and Medicare compliance issues Medicaid and Medicaid compliance issues grants management and compliance regulations applicable to federally qualified health centers and various governmental (e.g. Montana Code Annotated) and/or healthcare related regulations and reporting requirements.

Certificates Licenses Registrations:

  • Valid State of Montana Drivers License in good standing

  • Work is structured by clinic fiscal regulations and established financial practices.

  • The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Controller and considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative.
