About Us:
RSI (Residential Services Inc. is a private nonprofit serving the Orange County (Chapel Hill/Carrboro) communities dedicated to providing quality care and support to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). We are committed to helping individuals thrive and reach their fullest potential. We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals.
Position Overview:
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to adults with IDD in their home/work/community setting. You will ensure the safety wellbeing and comfort of residents throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision assistance and support to residents with daily living activities including personal hygiene grooming and medication administration.
- Monitor and respond to any medical or behavioral needs that may arise during the evening following established protocols and procedures.
- Promote a positive and empowering atmosphere within the group home encouraging social interaction participation in recreational activities and skillbuilding opportunities.
- Document observations incidents and interventions accurately and promptly in resident records.
- Collaborate with team members including case managers healthcare professionals and family members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for residents.
- Maintain a clean safe and comfortable living environment including performing light housekeeping duties and conducting regular safety checks.

Do you enjoy caring for others This job is a great way to gain experience in Psychology Social Work Nursing Premed OT/PT or other human services fields experience! We provide training!
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Passion for learning.
- Drivers License
Internship Specifics:
- Can be used for college credit should it fall in line with your requirements.
- Threemonth minimum commitment.
- Start and end dates are flexible.
