Associate Director Library Experience and Research Services

About the role:
The Associate Director Library Experience and Research Services is a dynamic senior leader role which provides bold and strategic leadership to deliver a unified vision for library experiences and scholarly research services that advance the Universitys priorities in research excellence student empowerment innovation and inclusive communities. Driving innovation in Library Experience and Research Services you will lead a team of frontline client service officers and experts to deliver exceptional equitable support and spaces that foster discovery wellbeing and a sense of belonging. As a key liaison you will bridge Scholarly Services with key stakeholders ensuring seamless highquality service delivery and spaces that advance the Universitys priorities in research excellence student empowerment innovation and inclusive communities.

What a typical week looks like for you: :

Your profile:
We are looking for an experienced senior leader with exceptional knowledge in Library client services and expert research services. You will be highly analytical and a proactive problemsolver capable of autonomous judgment and strategic implementation. You excel at navigating change fostering strong stakeholder relationships through effective consultation and communication and contribute to a collaborative inclusive environment. Through your exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment to selfdevelopment you demonstrate the ability to influence others and navigate complex organisational dynamics with tact and diplomacy.

Essential Criteria:

  1. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and people management/supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience within the tertiary education sector or similar environment.
  2. Deep knowledge and leadership experience in the design and delivery of usercentred library services and expert research support programs including space planning service innovation research data management scholarly communication digital preservation open access and copyright.
  3. Demonstrated ability to operationalise strategy lead change and drive innovation in service design and delivery with strong conceptual analytical and problemsolving skills.
  4. A strong track record of building inclusive highperforming teams effectively managing staff fostering a culture of continuous learning and wellbeing and addressing underperformance with clarity and support.
  5. Highly developed interpersonal consultation and negotiation skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups influence outcomes and communicate with impact to varied audiences.
  6. Experience providing highlevel strategic and policy advice to senior leaders with demonstrated capability in financial management resource planning and service development within a complex institutional environment.
  7. Commitment to reflective practice and professional growth with the ability to navigate organisational and interpersonal dynamics with empathy adaptability and selfawareness

Your New Team Research and Collection Stewardship Student & Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

This position is within Research and Collection Stewardship (RACS) a group of Scholarly Services. RACS has strategic oversight for the development and curation of the University scholarly and distinctive collections Library frontline client Library spaces as well as supporting research information infrastructure repositories and delivery of expert research support services. We contribute to the Universitys teaching and research mission through human and technical infrastructure that facilitates discovery of and access to the rich and diverse scholarly collections we acquire and preserve to inspire scholarship.
