Job Description
The Amazon Connectivity team designs connectivity software solutions for Amazon devices encompassing wide range of products including the Fire TV family of devices.
In this role as a Sr Software Development Engineer you will be part of a fastpaced agile and innovative team who is bringing new WiFi and networking experiences to the exciting range of devices in a startup like environment.
Key job responsibilities
As a Sr Software Development Engineer you will work closely with crossfunctional teams to:
Architect develop and deliver WiFi connectivity features for new and existing Amazon devices
Collaborate with other software teams to design and deliver unique customer features and experiences
Provide Amazon Customer Support technical assistance to troubleshoot customer issues
Mentor junior and new team members

On this team you will be able to learn and teach others how to think outside the box stretching what is possible within our devices/technology by writing solid code and designing solutions that are extensible maintainable and scalable.
7 years of noninternship professional software development experience
7 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
7 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java C or C including objectoriented design
Bachelors degree in computer science computer engineering or equivalent
7 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Have prior experience with WiFi solutions from one or more major WiFi chipset vendors Strong knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common Networking protocols such as DHCP DNS HTTP and HTTPS etc.
Experienced in IEEE802.11/WiFi protocols and extensions
Experienced in WiFi development and debugging tools such as wireless sniffers and protocol analyzers
Familiarity with Android and Linux development on kernel device drivers and frameworks
