You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Oncology Clinical Social Worker (OCSW) is a mental/behavioral health clinician who operates as a coremember of a multidisciplinary oncology team. The OCSW offers social work intervention through directtreatment and/or coordination of needed services to patients and/or their families experiencing psychosocialadjustment difficulties associated with illness injury disability and related hospitalization. Interventions mayinclude: biopsychosocial assessment brief supportive counseling care coordination information/resourcereferrals crisis intervention and patient/support person(s) advocacy. The primary goal of the intervention is toassist patients in achieving maximum physical and psychosocial functioning using evidencebasedinterventions targeted at improving health and wellbeing for a variety of patients. The OCSW also providesmental health support for patients support person(s) as they navigate adjustment to the patients illnessadvanced care planning palliative care needs and other difficult decisions related to cancer diagnosis/carealso providing grief/bereavement support when appropriate.
The OCSW will participate in department and clinical team meetings. The OCSW will practice in accordancewith performance standards ethical principles and NASW/AOSW core values with a commitment to serviceexcellence. The OCSW may participate in or provide professional education programs within the agency andcommunity may provide supervision to social work interns and may provide social work consultation tocommunity agencies.

For outpatient positions: Some opportunities for flexible remote work. Remote work at OHSU is a workarrangement under which an employee performs the duties and responsibilities of their position and otherauthorized activities from a nonOHSU location as part of their approved regular schedule. The OCSW isexpected to be inperson all but one day of the work week unless FTE is 0.5 or less which requires onsitepresence each day. Some specialty clinic positions may differ. The OCSW is expected to follow the termsoutlined in the department Telehealth work agreement and may be required to come to the hospital/clinic atshort notice on a remote day.
For CHO locations: Some travel may be required.
