Biology Teacher Permanent Position
Location: Peterborough
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Fulltime Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
School Type: State Secondary School
The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join our Science Department at a successful and inclusive state secondary school in Peterborough. The ideal candidate will be a passionate Biology Teacher who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and department needs.

Main Responsibilities
Plan and deliver highquality Biology lessons that inspire curiosity and promote deep understanding.
Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially KS5 covering a range of biological concepts from cells and ecosystems to genetics and human health.
Contribute to curriculum development within the Biology Department.
Use a range of assessment methods to monitor student progress and provide effective feedback.
Participate in school life beyond the classroom including extracurricular science activities and enrichment opportunities.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Biology Teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for biology.
Proven ability to engage inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
A reflective practitioner with excellent classroom management skills.
A team player who contributes positively to departmental collaboration.
