The Role
As a Music Teacher whether an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced teacher your responsibilities will include:
Delivering highquality lessons in music across Key Stages 3 4 and 5 ensuring students develop both practical and theoretical knowledge
Creating a varied and engaging curriculum that includes music theory performance composition and music history to inspire students of all abilities
Guiding students in both individual and group performances helping them hone their skills in instrumental vocal and composition work
Collaborating with the music team to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of all students fostering a positive learning environment
Providing regular feedback to assess student progress and help them achieve their full potential
Supporting extracurricular activities such as school concerts music clubs and ensembles offering students opportunities to showcase their talents outside of the classroom
Taking on leadership responsibilities if you are an experienced teacher including mentoring less experienced colleagues or contributing to the departments strategic planning
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Music Teacher who is passionate about the subject and committed to helping students reach their potential. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced teacher you should possess:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Music or a related field
For ECTs: A desire to develop professionally with support from experienced colleagues
For Experienced Teachers: Proven experience teaching music at Key Stage 3 4 and 5 with a track record of student success
Knowledge of music theory performance composition and music history
The ability to engage and inspire students to achieve their best in both theoretical and practical music tasks
A creative approach to curriculum delivery ensuring lessons are both challenging and enjoyable for all students
Strong communication skills to work with students parents and staff
A commitment to contributing to extracurricular activities that enhance the music programme and foster a love for music beyond the classroom
For Experienced Teachers: Leadership or mentoring experience within a department is highly desirable
