Overview
The Senior Certification Engineer for Infotainment & Instrument Cluster Systems plays a pivotal role in ensuring that automotive infotainment and instrument cluster systems comply with regulatory standards and customer requirements. In a rapidly evolving automotive landscape this position is crucial for validating the functionality performance and safety of integrated automotive systems. The engineer will work closely with development teams to establish certification requirements conduct rigorous testing and produce documentation that supports compliance efforts. This role not only contributes to the overall quality and reliability of products but also enhances the user experience by ensuring that stateoftheart technologies meet industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead certification activities for infotainment and instrument cluster systems.
- Develop and implement certification plans and test strategies.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for certification purposes.
- Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on system performance.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to address compliance issues.
- Work with external certification bodies to facilitate the certification process.
- Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
- Provide guidance and training to junior engineers on certification processes.
- Engage in root cause analysis for any certification failures.
- Stay uptodate with industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Ensure all testing equipment and environments are properly calibrated and maintained.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables related to certification efforts.
- Assist in the development of risk assessment protocols.
- Participate in design reviews to provide certification insights and feedback.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive certification engineering.
- Strong knowledge of infotainment systems and instrument cluster technologies.
- Experience with certification standards such as ISO 26262 DO178C or similar.
- Proficient in the use of testing tools and methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements for automotive systems.
- Experience in project management tools and techniques.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficient in technical documentation and reporting.
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer (CFSE) is a plus.
- Knowledge of system integration methodologies.
- Willingness to travel for certificationrelated activities as required.
