Position Summary
The Improvement Consultant plays a critical role in driving performance improvement and operational excellence across UHN. This role leverages Lean Six Sigma methodology utilizes datadriven insights and partners with clinical teams to identify opportunities for quality improvement (QI) to improve patient outcomes quality of care and system efficiency. Additionally this role supports the spread and scale of Lean Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies to strengthen continuous improvement capabilities across UHN.
Duties
- Lead clinical teams in applying Lean Six Sigma methodology and other QI approaches to identify opportunities for improvement develop recommendations and implement solutions to enhance care delivery.
- Manage endtoend process improvement projects overseeing all phases from planning to maintaining project scope and timelines.
- Leverage expertise in identifying and acting on performance issues deploying best practices and embedding continuous improvement into daily operations.
- Facilitate knowledgesharing sessions and workshops coaching teams on process improvement and data literacy.
- Support the UHN Lean Six Sigma Community of Practice contributing to education adoption and spread of improvement approaches.
- Utilize data analytics to assess performance visualize findings and translate insights into actionable recommendations to ensure a datadriven approach to decisionmaking.
- Utilize change management strategies to engage stakeholders drive adoption of new processes and sustain improvements.
- Build positive relationships with all project stakeholders and ensure timely communication and engagement.
- Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project milestones outcomes and recommendations to various committees and project teams.
Qualifications :
- Undergrad Degree in Health Science/Informatics/Administration Business or Industrial/Process Engineering or related field (Masters degree an asset)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required (Black Belt and/or other quality improvement training considered an asset)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a hospital setting leading process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma and/or other quality improvement frameworks
- Excellent data analysis skills to identify data quality issues patterns visualize findings and communicate insights
- Experience supporting diverse largescale initiatives
- Excellent problem recognition analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication with experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated experience leading improvement projects and using project management and change management principles
- Demonstrated ability to develop educational materials facilitate training sessions and coach teams in improvement methodologies
- Proficiency in data visualization reporting tools and dashboards to support decisionmaking
