Job Description
You will join an international team responsible for the management of the Private Cloud Foundation infrastructure. This involves overseeing the operation of VMware technologies ensuring their efficient performance and functionality and maintaining the overall health of the virtual cloud platform. The department plays a crucial role in ensuring the Private Cloud Platform operates smoothly and securely providing reliable and efficient platforms for hosting applications and services
In this role youll be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing our virtual environments based on VMware in onpremise data centres. Your daily responsibilities will include ensuring the seamless operation and security of our internal tools and applications with a strong focus on system hardening and life cycle management of VMware product suites. Youll play a pivotal role in continuous patching to address vulnerabilities thereby safeguarding our platforms and critical services.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the migration of applications to modern platforms ensuring they are robust and efficient.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for platforms internal portals and dashboards setting up new functions that align with organisational goals.
- Manage operational incidents and tackle complex troubleshooting to ensure the swift recovery of critical services.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure IT operations are strategically aligned with the organisations objectives.
Success in this position means effectively developing and maintaining operational policies procedures and documentation that bolster our IT infrastructure. Your proactive approach and technical expertise will not only support our mission of fossil freedom but also inspire your colleagues through knowledgesharing and collaborative problemsolving.
Qualifications :
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping the future of virtual environments at Vattenfall We are looking for a dedicated professional with at least seven years of experience in VMware technologies such as VCF vSphere NSX vSAN and vRealize Suite. Your expertise in IT service management frameworks like ITIL and data centre solutions will be essential in driving the maintenance and continuous improvement of our platforms. You thrive in complex environments solving intricate problems to ensure critical services remain online.
Additionally you should have:
- Proficiency in multiple operating systems including Linux and Windows Server as well as networking and storage technologies
- Certifications in VMware Cloud Foundation Linux Windows Server or storage technologies
- Experience with DevOps practices
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with customers stakeholders and team members:
- A motivating and energizing approach to drive team performance: To inspire and lead initiatives that align with organisational goals.
