Job Description
Rocks / Canopy Asst. Director
High level emotional intelligence

Ability to interact with men and women of all ages and maturity levels of staff/customers
Maintain a friendly cheerful and helpful attitude to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Provides instruction in climbing and rappelling techniques to participants.
Provide first line supervision of climbing activities during operations.
Become familiar with all the proper gear supplied prior to the camping season
Become thoroughly familiar with all information relative to the climbing and rappelling facilities
Participate in the specialized program training during the staff training period.
Continue onthejob training throughout the season
Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership
Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook
18 years of age or older
Must be able to complete Guide Training and assessment (provided)
Preferred: Possess current First Aid and CPR and AED certification
Preferred: BSA C.O.P.E. Level 1 or 2 Instructor Certification (training provided)
Preferred: Experience guiding/facilitating and managing others
Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination
Be or become a registered member of Scouting America
Completes contract period with 24 positive experiences
Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants
Contribute at least one improvement to the Rocks/Canopy program
Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant
Up to 8 hours a day of either standing walking hiking and the ability to lift 5070 lbs.
Comfortable at heights of 6 to 180
Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements HERE
