You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are recruiting for passionate and dedicated Complex Needs Workers to join our new team providing vital support to vulnerable young people aged 1825 who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping.
As a Complex Needs Worker you will play a key role in ensuring that the young people in our care have the environment resources and support they need to thrive. You will help provide highquality accommodation and guidance to foster independence helping each young person develop the essential life skills they need for successful independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide day to day support to a caseload of residents with complex and coexisting needs ensuring they are appropriately assessed and supported and to work collaboratively with specialist substance misuse services and Adult Mental Health Services to ensure these needs are met
To ensure each resident has a clear programme of support in place to help them achieve the independent living skills required for them to progress onto a more or even completely independent living placement / accommodation.
To ensure the health and safety of the residents; in supporting them to maintain and further improve their mental health and to promote their independent living abilities in accordance with their individual support plans fully involving them in all aspects of the planning and service delivery.
Help create a supportive inclusive environment where young people can grow and develop their personal skills.
Promote emotional physical and mental wellbeing by offering practical and emotional support.
Work alongside other professionals to help young people access additional services such as education employment and mental health support.
Requirements:
Qualification in a related field (eg housing social care) or Substantial knowledge and experience of working within the Housing / Support arena within a comparable or similar sector.
Have an understanding of complex needs and therapeutic approaches to support the residents in addressing their needs and inform change
Have an indepth understanding of childhood trauma and its impact on mental wellbeing and be able to deliver the appropriate information intervention advice guidance
Strong understanding of the challenges young people face particularly related to homelessness and complex needs.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with young people.
A full current UK driving licence

The support they receive reflects their aspirations to access education training employment and volunteering their future housing needs and addresses any physical and mental wellbeing needs. Our aim is to empower residents to gain the tools and skills that enable stability independent living promising futures and connection to their communities. Currently we provide housing services and supported living across 12 different districts in Hertfordshire Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire and we are actively recruiting new staff to help even more vulnerable people in the community changing and saving their lives!

The dynamic pathway to independence is a seamless continuous movement towards independence with each resident a journey which is planned out on a person centric basis towards full independence which is split into 5 distinct phases.

Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 1119 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
