About our instructors: NCE Instructors deliver engaging and educational classes and programming to campers of all ages. Instructors are responsible for class preparation and planning teaching student supervision attendance and all safety protocols cleanup and online meeting hosting (if applicable). Instructors are organized flexible and able to problemsolve; calm under pressure; effective communicators with adults counselors and campers and have experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
Reports to: The CIT Leader is supervised by the Summer Program Coordinator and the Enrichment Camp Director.

Job Description
The CIT leader oversees the design and implementation of this program for 6 to 15 young people in grades 810: planning and running daily activities assisting in promoting the program and more to create a topnotch experience.
Qualifications & Qualities
- Experience engaging and supervising young people ages 1218 preferably in a recreational setting
- Experience managing students with behavioral issues and skills to intervene directly when necessary to offer a strengthbased empathic approach
- Experience working with students with neurodivergencies and other disabilities Ability to foresee safety risks and implement proactive practices to keep students safe. Proven ability to develop & implement successful operational processes and procedures preferably in the context of school and/or camps.
- An inclusive mindset and commitment to engaging all enrolled students regardless of background level of experience English language ability etc.

Essential Job Duties
Young People and Program
- Actively work to support NCEs mission and values
- Provide an updated course description to NCE Summer program coordinator Plan and program ageappropriate content matter and activities in line with content advertised in the description for the relevant program. The program should have clear learning objectivesand the activities of each lesson should be planned in advance to meet those objectives materials necessary for the course and each class including preparing and garnering approval for a materials budget if applicable.
- Use intentional activities and language to foster a sense of belonging and community within the group
- Ensure students leave with an enriched understanding and sense of enthusiasm Actively recruit young people for the program
- Attend NCE summer staff orientation June 21st (provided school is out) and any other planning meetings leading up to the program
- Arrive 15 minutes before the start of the program each day and stay until the last young person is picked up.
Budget
- Track spending for needed materials; submit advanced requests for materials needed; provide appropriate documentation for reimbursement requests
Safety and Procedures
- Supervise students during the program and ensure their safety
- Be familiar with NCE instructor handbook; ensure that regulations and NCE policies including protocols for checkin dropoff and attendance are faithfully followed by attendees and staff Work with Summer Program Coordinator around cell phone policy for participants while attending the program
- Review medical/allergy information for all attendees; check in with families in advance to make an appropriate plan; ensure medical/allergy needs are adequately and confidentially addressed at camp
- Support students with special needs as communicated by NCE office staff
- Support staff and volunteers (if applicable) with student behavioral issues and intervene directly when necessary to offer a strengthbased empathic approach
- Timely and appropriate communication including documentation of incidents and accidents with Summer Program Coordinator and NCE Central Staff
- Seek assistance of Summer Program Coordinator and/or NCE Central Staff as appropriate Oversee respectful use of NPS facilities
Requirements
- Ability to commit to full duration of work
- Proficient in Google Docs and Sheets
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR obtained no later than June 2024 Clean CORI/SORI/fingerprint background check
- Able to quickly navigate around buildings and outdoor areas
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs
Compensation:
$3200 per 2week session (inclusive of planning and implementation time)
