The Enterprise Technology team is seeking a Network Development Engineer with focused attention on wireless networks. To be successful in this role youll need technical breadth to contribute to the design planning delivery and operation of Kuipers internal Network. We are currently expanding our Networking team and are looking for a proven technology leaders with experience in building from scratch robust technical understanding and the drive and vision to take Kuiper Network to the next level. The successful candidate for this role will drive automation opportunities to reduce delivery cycle times and to improve quality without impacting network availability. In this role youll interface with crossfunctional teams including operators information security thirdparty vendors and multiple IT infrastructure teams. Youll join a diverse team of systems engineers software developers network engineers and warehouse management systems experts.

As a Engineer specializing in WiFi network design and implementation you will play a pivotal role in architecting deploying and maintaining wireless networks.
Leveraging Wireless principles and deploying Wireless Access Points you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of wireless connectivity
This role combines expertise in networking wireless technologies and cloud management to deliver reliable highperformance wireless connectivity
Wireless Network Design: Design robust highperformance wireless networks utilizing industry best practice methodologies to create high density and resilient network specially large warehouses.
Optimize AP placement and configuration to maximize coverage capacity and improved user experience
Wireless Deployments: Lead the implementation of wireless networks migration between different vendors from conception to ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate wireless solutions into existing infrastructure
Operational Support: Provide operational/escalation support for wireless networks including monitoring network performance analyzing network traffic and implementing proactive measures to ensure network stability availability and reliability
Identify and resolve issues related to cochannel interference frame error rate spectrum efficiency and network congestion
Respond to and resolve network incidents and work with other IT teams to identify and address root causes of problems
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs configurations and performance metrics
Generate regular reports to communicate project status performance trends and key insights to stakeholders
Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of emerging technologies industry trends and best practices in wireless networking
Physical and Other Requirements:
Must be willing to support an offhours operations escalation pager rotation.
Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
The ability to sit in front of computer during scheduled work hours with appropriate breaks while maintaining a high level of alertness and attention to detail.
This position will require onsite work in Bellevue Kirkland Redmond and Everett WA. This role also requires travel to support other Kuiper locations.

A day in the life
As a Network Development Engineer for Kuiper you will be responsible for building maintaining and supporting the systems that Kuipers research development production launch and design teams rely on to build out our product. You will coordinate with researchers and engineers to build and support the infrastructure they need. You will work with vendors to evaluate purchase deploy and support missioncritical tools. You will customize and integrate thirdparty software to meet Amazons needs. You will improve existing infrastructure to ensure it continues to meet Amazons high bar for operational excellence

3 years of automation scripting using Python Ansible experience
8 years of major internet routing protocols experience

Expert knowledge of all 802.11 (abgnacax) 802.1x (EAP/PEAP) TACACS IPSK and radio frequency communication principals.
Expert knowledge with Site Survey tools Hands on experience on Ekahau. Significant field experience working with Cisco wireless solutions such as Catalyst 9800 IOSXE 55XX / 85XX AIROS Controllers and Cisco 91XX38XX series APs.
Expert knowledge with Cisco ISE for authentication and Guest Access of a Cisco Wireless Network Experience working with Cisco Wireless management solutions such as DNA Center and Prime Infrastructure.
Solid understanding of Cisco wired networks routers switches firewalls and experience working with Catalyst switches such as Catalyst 94XX 93XX 3850 45XX.
Proven ability with wireless optimizations including AP placement achieving ideal signal levels optimized roaming 802.11r) spectrum selection channel tuning cell optimization QoS and more
Strong leadership and project management abilities
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
License/Certification: CWNA/CCNP Wireless/CCIE Wireless
Expert level knowledge of network administration routing/switching and engineering in mission critical environments servicing large server deployments

The base pay for this position ranges from $143200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247600/year in our highest geographic market.
