The University of St. Thomas is Houstons Catholic University committed to the religious ethical and intellectual traditions of Catholic higher education. Located in Houston Texas the nations fourth largest city the campus is just steps from downtown Museum District Innovation Corridor and the famed Texas Medical Center. UST is a diverse and vibrant urban environment with professional opportunities and we are currently seeking a visionary scholar/teacher and accomplished program manager steeped in the liberal arts to fill a fulltime open rank position in Communication to lead the program beginning August 2023.
To be considered for this position candidates must hold a doctorate in one of the following or allied areas: Communication Digital Media Information Journalism or Political Science for instance.
The successful candidate must demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset with regard to program innovation and be able to energize the technical/professional and philosophical/research dimensions of the program for global impact. USTs Communication program is ready for a leader able to capitalize on crosscampus connections to build an interdisciplinary program for the current age.
Interested candidates must provide a comprehensive resume and cover letter evidence of a commitment to teaching excellence and three professional references.
Candidates must also submit a statement demonstrating a firm commitment to advance the mission of Catholic higher education as it is articulated in Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
