Job Description

General Description: The position of Middle School Science Instructor fulfills the mission of Saint Joseph School by designing and implementing a comprehensive Science curriculum for grades 6 8. In doing so this instructor encourages students to think abstractly and critically as they assess the world around them. This is accomplished through the daily delivery of classroom instruction lab experiments and innovative program design. The individual must have experience in STEM education and a strong background in the Job Functions:Ability to design and implement new lessons and curriculumAbility to manage a classroom of students with a variety of learning needsExperience in Middle School instructionExperience in experiential learning and/or projectbased learningSpecific Duties:Design implement and evaluate a 6th 8th grade Science curriculum Instruct students in the basic operation of Google Suite applications and toolsProvide opportunities for collaboration and experimentation through the of regular lab experiencesAppropriate evaluate and assess student success and content mastery through standard instruments of assessmentCommunicate with colleagues to support the general Middle School Division operationCommunicate and collaborate with parents in the education of all studentsSeek out new opportunities to support and promote digital skills such as online research digital citizenship and technology literacySupport afterschool student help sessions
