Evening weekend television distance education (i.e. Lanai and Molokai) and offcampus (various high school campuses) may be assigned as part of regular workload.

This is NOT a remote position the job requires inperson work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

(NOTE:** denotes Essential Functions):

SERVICE ADMINISTRATION & ENROLLMENT PROGRAMS

  1. **The enrollment management specialist assists the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs by providing leadership and strategic directions for the following centralized areas: University communications enrollment technology and data analytics and other centralized areas as they emerge.
  2. **Develops implements and evaluates policies procedures events management system and control for enrollment management to assure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  3. **Develop long and shortrange goals and initiatives for enrollment management aimed at continually improving student enrollment (recruitment and admissions) financial aid retention and enhancing the image of the campus.
  4. **Develop long and shortrange enrollment and tuition projections in collaboration withcampus and reports enrollment trends to administration prior to census data in the fall and spring.
  5. **Works with enrollmentrelated departments/units to maintain and analyze historical enrollment trends use data to drive decisions set strategies and develop recruitment and financial aid initiatives to meet enrollment goals.
  6. **Establishes and maintains effective working relations with academic affairs student affairs and administrative affairs to assure appropriate participation in student recruitment and retention.
  7. **With the Directors of Admissions Financial Aid Services Registrar and Counseling Services oversees the planning implementation direction and evaluation of all activities related to the recruitment and admissions of students financial aid registration and records and academic advising.
  8. **The Enrollment Management Office has leadership responsibilities for the planning direction coordination and management of the enrollment services and initiatives for UHMC. Under the leadership of the Enrollment Management Office enrollment management programs will provide seamless services to early college and high school graduates continuing education (noncredit) transfer students and new students. These services include the following: new student enrollment transition and retention international student admissions enrollment technology and data analytics.
ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES:
  1. **Assists in managing and directing facilities services and operations related to student recruitment admissions and student enrollment programs.
  2. **Participates in recruitment interviewing selection training and other student staff for recruitment admissions and student enrollment programs.
  3. **Participates in the implementation and improvement of direct marketing and communication plans for different populations to increase acceptance and enrollment yields.
OTHER:
  1. **Provides management skills and knowledge to include serving in the absence of a supervisor.
  2. **Participates via institutional and/or personal membership in various national professional associations appropriate to the position (e.g. NACAC ACPA NASPA HACAC etc..
  3. **Serves and provides leadership on appropriate University and Systemwide committees planning efforts and programs.
  4. **The incumbent works independently without close supervision and performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
  5. Guidance is given on unusual or complex problems and procedures as needed.
  6. The incumbents supervisor is kept informed of general plans and progress of work.
  7. Monitors coordinates or directs the work of lower level personnel clerical assistants and/or student assistants. Reviews the work of others and/or provides training to others in their area of expertise. Refers matters of policy to the supervisor.
  8. Assumes other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Professional Work Experience:
  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree and three 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for providing educational services or assistance to students or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Considerable working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area ofstudent recruitment student admissions student enrollment student support services or student affairsas demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
  • Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated withstudent recruitment student admissions student enrollment student support services or student affairs work.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.

Supplemental Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated ability in program development skills especially in needs assessment program ideation and evaluation.
  2. Ability to travel and work outside normally scheduled business hours including evenings weekends and/or holidays as necessitated by program requirements.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multicultural populations and local communities.
  4. Valid drivers license and access to automobiles for recruitment and student enrollment purposes.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Experience working with nontraditional students populations as well as with international students.
  2. Experience with student information systems in higher education.
  3. Attentive to details.
  4. Skilled in teambuilding and developing collaborative partnerships in solving complex problems.
