How will your ideas contribute to shaping whats next

As a Senior Substation Design Engineer for our clients projects in Western Australia based in Perth youll play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that bring ideas to life for our clients. Situated in our Energy Practice you will work across a multidisciplinary team of professionals across Australia on a wide variety of projects of our Energy & Industrial service group getting exposure to the most exciting major projects in Western Australias energy and resources sectors and other challenging projects across Australia.

We are seeking engineers with either or both primary and secondary substation design experience for open roles.

Your role will include:

• Conducting leading reviewing and verifying detail designs and technical reports for the client including substation primary or secondary systems.

• Lead and deliver concepts to detailed designs for substation equipment up to transmission voltages.

• Developing and optimising designs for substations to meet client needs including working with civil and mechanical engineers as .

• Collaborating with Aurecons Engineers and Designers undertake engineering studies as necessary to develop designs for high voltage primary systems and/or design of secondary protection and control systems.

• Working with drafting experts to produce single line diagrams wiring diagrams substation layouts equipment/materials lists clearance checks and substation / control room layouts as defined with technical engineering calculations.

• Monitoring and ensuring designs are compliant with all relevant Australian and local regulations and standards.

• Being responsive to clients needs and maintaining a reputation for quality and timely advice working closely with crossfunctional project teams and project managers to support client needs and financial decisions.

• Providing technical leadership to team members and the ability to work in crossfunctional teams to support the diverse project requirements of our clients.

• Bachelor degree qualification in electrical (or related) engineering.

• Experience in high voltage projects in Western Australia and/or the Northern Territory as a consultant developer owner or contractor in the energy and/or mining or resources sector.

• Knowledge of the transmission and distribution industry standards and codes in Australia and/or design experience with Australian electrical utilities.

• Proficiency in offering solutions to technical challenges. Demonstrated technical leadership including effective influencing motivation and delegation skills and the ability to work well within technical teams.

• Strong technical capability and report writing skills.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with clients (consulting experience is desirable).
