Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join the team of a rehab facility in Washington D.C. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide highquality patient care. The Physical Therapist Assistant will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective treatment plans and therapeutic exercises.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Skills
- Strong background in Patient Care with a focus on empathy and support.
- Solid understanding of Physiology to effectively assist in rehabilitation processes.
- Experience in both Outpatient and Inpatient settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with Physical Therapy practices including therapeutic modalities and exercises.
- Ability to work in Home Health environments providing care in patients residences.
- Understanding of Acute Care procedures for patients requiring immediate attention.
- Competence in developing and following Care Plans tailored to individual patient needs.
