Job Description

1:1 HIGH SCHOOL INCLUSION PARAPROFESSIONALAs a 1:1 at GLCPS your primary responsibility would be assisting an eager motivated and energetic student in accessing the curriculum in an inclusion GLCPS you will have the support of the team including Special Education and General Education teachers who plan and deliver curriculum to students in an inclusion setting. You would help your student complete work in class during each block of the day prompt and redirect your student and help them to stay focused on tasks providing accommodations. Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferred but a willingness to learn is key!In this role you would also support this student in other areas of the curriculum including lunch time with peers elective classes like art and music and physical education. As a 1:1 Paraprofessional at GLCPS you will receive a prep block daily to complete your data collection and catch up on items that you may need for working with your student. You will also meet with your team responsibilities would include but are not limited to:Daily home communication with parentAssistance with completion of classworkWorking closely with the Special Education and General Education teachers to understand modification and accommodation provided to studentFacilitating communication through speech and/or communication device to help student become more independentAssisting student with navigating throughout the buildingCommunicate needs to the teamWork daily with coteachers to provide accommodations and modifications for studentRun behavior plan and PBIS initiatives as neededCollect daily data and help with progress reportingHave fun working with an awesome student who is ready to learn and loves being in the inclusion setting with peers
