You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailLiberty Elementary has declared a licensed teaching position open for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). The successful coordinator candidate will support both teachers and students in the successful implementation of the PYP program and World Language and Culture Enrichment Educator.
Contract Length: 183.5 days
Start date: August 11 2025
Expectations:
Support the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme
Identify and solve problems by creating new useful or imaginative solutions that promote effective inquirybased teaching/learning practices.
Planning for and organizing teacher professional development needs with the school and IBO.
Support teachers and the culture of the school with the Learner Profile and the Approaches to Teaching and Learning.
Observe classroom instructional practices (including wholegroup smallgroup and individual experiences/interactions)
Provide timely feedback based on data collected during observations
Participate in grade/contentlevel collaborative team meetings (as needed)
Coach teachers to design and implement the Program of Inquiry.
Coach teachers to use a variety of researchbased learnercentric instructional strategies and assessment tools
Coach teachers to address the diverse needs and interests of all students
Complete IB program evaluations
Create and organize IB Program marketing plans and materials
Support IB administrators and educators in conducting student and parent meetings
Organize IB parent/community informational meetings and/or events
Stay up to date on program changes curriculum review cycles coordinator notes
Collaborate with the IB District Specialist and MYP and DP/CP Coordinators
Ensure IB website is regularly updated and effectively communicates program information
Coordinate and support teachers and students with the 6thgrade exhibition.
Maintain PYP yearly budgets according to the programmes expectations.
Professional Learning and Growth:
Engage in continuous learning to deepen professional knowledge skills and dispositions in organizational change and leadership project management and adult learning to improve professional practice.
Regularly evaluate and reflect on their professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen their ability to effectively model and facilitate technologyenhanced learning experiences.
Participate in team meetings and ad hoc problemsolving meetings (as necessary).
Actively contribute to the Ogden School District online community of practice (i.e. develop resources that are shared districtwide via various webbased outlets).
Maintain manage and share a variety of resources for teacher and student use in learnercentered classrooms.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
PYP World Language
Assist in the creation and communication of the school language policy.
Assist teachers and students in the creation of student language portraits.
Promote language learning as a means to build and strengthen intercultural relationships.
Create environments where students use their home language with pride and access a host of global languages to engage with the learning community.
Communicate and embed the values and beliefs that underpin multilingualism within the Liberty learning community.
Plan and implement lessons that develop students metalinguistic skills and understandings by facilitating and actively encouraging students to make connections between languages.
Ensure that multiple languages are seen and heard throughout the school and in communications between home and school.
Support teachers and students in inquirybased learning that explores and supports the use of multiple languages.
Support the school communitys effectiveness in building a positive culture of language learning through collaboration with all stakeholders.
Establish connections for enrichment between the school and local and global communities.
Create and update PYP content on the Liberty Elementary school website.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Meet professional teacher education requirements of the school district and state.
Relevant experience with and understanding of the International Baccalaureate Program.
Relevant experience with teaching language.
