Job Description:

Ability to coach guide and provide assistance in troubleshooting various advanced pneumatic hydraulic electrical controls and mechanical systems at the component level on all process and packaging equipment in a fast paced high production work environment while prioritizing multiple technical and administrative tasks on a consistent basis during major events on the line (breakdowns changeovers speed losses etc.. The Reliability Lead drives a team of technicians to deliver this service across the entire plant assigning resources to areas where they are most needed. Additionally the Reliability Lead ensures that shift resources are utilized to execute assigned PM / planned work in times of low demand.

What are we looking for

Minimum:

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical degree/trade certification or 46 years equivalent work experience .

Preferred:

  • Associates degree in a technical discipline preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology.
  • Successful completion of Mars Apprenticeship Program or Coop.
  • Electrical school certified

What will be your key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Reliability Technicians on shift.
  • Reliability shift lead will evaluate situations prioritize and assign necessary maintenance assets as necessary.
  • Reliability shift lead will assist in troubleshooting where needed and coach shift techs to close skill gaps.
  • Provide communications and escalations to Operations on shift and to Reliability Manager.
  • Prioritize activities and assure completion in a timely manner.
  • Communicate long term and shortterm goals to team and motivate them to perform.
  • Ensure complete and timely closeout of unplanned work orders with a clear description of problem observed actions taken and any followups that may be .
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all completed shift work by the team in SAP PM
  • Communicate issues observed to Systems Technician and develop solutions for reoccurring issues.
  • Ensure that shift resources are well utilized during slow times by of PMs and planned work.
  • Support shift managers in decisions to minimize production down time and loss of product preservation of buildings systems equipment sanitation and utilities.
  • Work with Reliability Manager to improve performance and reliability of systems.
  • Ensure that standard metrics are in place and used to drive action on the shift.
  • Serve as coach for shift technicians providing technical and professional guidance as needed.
  • Work with Reliability Manager on performance reviews of associates and provide timely feedback.
  • Support the Mars FMOS and drive its use and improvement through the plant.
  • Participation in the Mars Supply Excellence program driving reliability improvements through breakdown elimination and support of autonomous maintenance.
  • Coach technicians through the BDA process to ensure identification of root cause. Maintenance lead will also follow up with the system technician to ensure all corrective actions are being completed and the root cause is eliminated.
  • Drive the timely completion of supplementary activities including but not limited to 5S Audits Cycle Counts and Area Owned Cleanliness.

Knowledge/Skills:

Minimum:

  • Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to coach and guide others through troubleshooting ac/dc electrical components including motor starters switches and sensors found on all assigned equipment using basic test equipment such as multimeters and amp probes.
  • Ability to coach and guide others through troubleshooting basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment; i.e. sorting systems and palletizing robots.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and to conduct multitask work in a very fast paced work environment
  • Willingness to develop others with required technical skills in welding basic machinist and fabrication/layout skills.
  • Possess an advanced understanding of ac/dc electrical (up to 480volt 3 phase) hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.

Preferred:

  • Technical/ Trade certification: welding advanced machinist skills fabrication and blueprint interpretation.
  • Possess PLC/ Instrumentation troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying 1050 lbs..
  • Frequent pushing/pulling 50200 lbs..
  • Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform climb stairs leaning over equipment.
  • Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions such as heat cold high and/or confined spaces and have full mobility to climb stairs & ladders

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to market location jobrelated knowledge skills and total compensation package for this position mayalso include other elements if eligible including variable pay medical and dental benefits participation in 401k plan and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offeredand the employees work schedule (i.e. parttime schedule store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
