Job Title: Mill Lead
Location: Fernley Nevada
Schedule: To be determined during interview; must be flexible for day or night shifts
Compensation: Starting at$23.50/hour with an additional$2.00/hour shift differential for night shifts

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experiencedMill Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Milling department. Reporting to the Production Supervisor the Mill Lead is responsible for achieving productivity quality safety and efficiency goals through leadership training and hands-on support. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and effective work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead Milling staff to meet production and quality goals
  • Train and orient new and returning employees
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor employee performance
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and complete required documentation
  • Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate repairs
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency of equipment
  • Monitor and adjust equipment to meet quality specifications
  • Conduct regular inspections including sanitation and color sorter checks
  • Track and report product spillage scrap and metal detector rejects
  • Ensure proper labeling and availability of indirect materials
  • Calibrate weigh scales and verify net drum weights
  • Communicate effectively with QA and management regarding product or personnel issues
  • Represent management in their absence and escalate issues as needed
  • Schedule and approve time-off requests monitor breaks and lunches
  • Lead departmental meetings and promote a team-oriented culture

Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience in a production or milling environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of safety quality and food safety standards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible availability for day or night shifts
