Job Description

US Farathaneis seeking aQuality Inspector 2nd Shift. This position is responsible for supporting the Quality System including auditing inprocess product per instructions completing associated documentation and assisting with other quality department tasks based on customer demand.

US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of fullservice support from blackbox design concepts to highly engineered composites TPEs and TPOs as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Examine and inspect materials and parts to discover defects wear and tear
  • Ensure that products or parts conform to work orders specifications blueprints and templates.
  • Inspect materials and finished parts determine if the product or part is in conformance with specifications and adjust process or assembly equipment.
  • Rework parts per work instructions.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and complex text equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating instructions and procedure manuals
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos
    • Ability to write simple correspondence and to speak and present information effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
    • Good organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to do simple math: addition subtraction multiplication and division
    • Ability to add positive and negative numbers. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
    • Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
    • Knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement instrument usage
    • Knowledge of quality systems and standards

      • Frequent standing or walking for long periods of time
      • Regularly lifting or lowering objects up to 30 pounds

      • The employee must have the ability to distinguish color variation.

      While performing the duties this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee must not wear any loosefitting clothing that may get in the way of the moving machinery. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The Employee may be required to work outside for short periods of time.
