This role is within the team that designs and develops CSQ Quote & Order a cuttingedge order management and quoting platform. Built using the latest technology our platform modernizes industries like telecommunications and banking.

About our technology
Our product adopts a microservice architecture for scalability and flexibility using Kafka for event streaming and PostgreSQL for data storage.
We use Kubernetes to orchestrate our containers allowing us to offer cloud (AWS & Azure) and onpremise deployment options of our platform. Our infrastructure is maintained by a stateoftheart gitops/IaC pipeline.
We heavily lean on opensource tools and libraries as well as maintaining our own to make development faster simpler and more consistent. Our code is managed using Git undergoes peer review before we test package and deploy through our CI/CD pipelines.
About the role
As a Java Lead Engineer you will drive technical direction mentor and empower your team and collaborate across squads to deliver robust scalable solutions for the CSG Quote & Order product. Youll be the goto person for technical decisions and will play a key role in defining our development standards architecture and best practices.
In your first 90 days youll get comfortable with our system build strong relationships across the Quote & Order team and design new features to deliver awesome outcomes for our customers.
What you will do
Help shape our technical roadmap aligning system architecture and development priorities with longterm business goals.
Code software! We want 25 of your time to be spent working on R&D projects / product development.
Champion clean efficient code by giving thoughtful PR feedback and holding the team to high standards.
Be a real multiplier on your teams efficiency. Proactively address inefficiencies/blockers critically assess your teams performance and provide targeted coaching so others can level up their skills.
Collaborate with product and design teams to translate customer needs into impactful userfriendly features.
Take ownership across our systems. Spot inefficiencies resolve bottlenecks and keep everything running like clockwork.
Evaluate new tools frameworks and trends to keep us at the forefront of innovation and productivity.
Role requirements
Youve been building with modern Java SE 17 for 8 years and know your stuff.
Youve successfully led teams provided mentorship and made highimpact technical decisions.
You thrive on teamwork can communicate and collaborate easily with your teammates.
Linux and Docker are your natural habitat. Youre completely at home in this environment.
You know your way around the development tools like GitHub Maven and Kubernetes
Bonus points if youve dabbled in: AWS/Azure PL/PGSQL MyBatis Camunda BPMN Engine REST API frameworks and other parts of our technology stack.

The Quote & Order team does not maintain a dedicated office space so your position will be 100 remote with the exception of several inperson workshops during the year (in Bali see below and Melbourne).
Twiceyearly workshops in Bali: Twice a year the whole Quote & Order team gets together in Bali Indonesia for dedicated inperson time including team presentations hackathon sessions training and teambuilding activities.
Paid volunteer days: Everyone at CSG gets two paid days per year to volunteer at a community organisation of your choice.
