A rare opportunity has arisen for a talented Sous Chef to join our brigade at the Square. The successful candidate will take a senior role in producing exquisite seasonal modern British / European cuisine as part of a friendly supportive team of six chefs and three kitchen porters. Working with the finest locally sourced fresh ingredients our new Sous Chef can expect to work to our seasonal la carte menu private dining events weddings member functions and much more!
Part of Quarter the Square is one of the most exciting and stylish venues in Bristol combining an awardwinning restaurant exclusive private members club and lively bar. The Square is also one of the most sought after event spaces in the city playing host to a variety of public events as well as private weddings and other celebrations.
Key details of the Sous Chef position:
Hours: Full time usually worked over 5 shifts per week on a rota basis
Salary: Package of 34200 comprising 32000 basic salary plus an estimated 2200 per annum in service charge (paid monthly)

Who are we looking for in a Sous Chef
The ideal candidate will have a real flair for cooking a sense of fun excellent leadership skills a winning personality and a strong work ethic. As Sous Chef you will be the righthand person to our Head Chef responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen in their absence. You will be involved in menu development by giving menu input on a regular basis including special event menus. Some experience in fine dining and working with fresh ingredients is essential.
This would be a great opportunity for an existing Junior Sous Chef or Sous Chef who is looking to build upon previous experience and knowledge in a thriving and successful restaurant. You will be joining a passionate and highly skilled team who work hard to produce the Squares exquisite and everchanging menu but have fun while doing so!

The interview process will involve a first round telephone interview with a member of the HR team. Applicants who are successful at this stage will then be invited in to a short (paid) offservice trial (lasting approximately 23 hours) and an inperson interview. Success at that stage would leave to one more (again paid! service trial.
