Job Description
REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree (doctorate preferred) in psychology from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
- Spanishspeaking preferred
- Two 2 years of successful experience in providing psychological services in an educational setting preferred
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- Perform professional psychological services in assessment behavior management and counseling services for students with emotional disabilities learning disabilities and/or behavioral problems
- Assess the psychological and psychoeducational needs of students referred to special education services
- Provide guidance to the special education counselor and oversee the behavior programs at each campus
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual emotional and behavioral functioning for educational purposes
- Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies including behavior management interventions
- Knowledge of psychosocial development
- Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers parents and students
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Additional $7000 stipend
Works 195 days
