Main Purpose of Job
Provide administrative support to the Principal of the Elementary Department.
POSITION DUTIES
Managethe office of the Elementary Department in the daily operations of the addition to supporting the Elementary School Principal this position servesstudents families teachers staff and visitors. Duties include assisting inmaintaining program safety and records tracking and monitoring studentattendance making phone calls writing letters tracking and collecting progressreports and report cards and monitoring and maintaining student and staffwellbeing. This position will also be involved with arranging schoolfunctions preparing and proofreading the Principals communications andcoordinating the Principals schedule. This position will collaborate closelywith the Campus Chief Educational Programs Officers office and with otherprograms in the school. May include communication with outside state and localagencies. May be asked to assume other duties as assigned by the ElementarySchool Principal or the Campus Chief Educational Programs Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma orequivalent (GED) required. Fluency in English and American Sign Languagerequired.
Experience: Four years performing officesecretarial type or clerical work involving typing duties.
Notes:
1. Additional secretarial orclerical experience may be substituted on a yearforyear basis for therequired education.
2. Thirty credit hours with a major insecretarial science or office technology from an accredited college may besubstituted at the rate of thirty credits for one year of experience for up totwo years of the required experience.
Strong English writing skills. Fluency in American Sign Language required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a school setting orclerical work preferred. Knowledge of Deaf Community degree preferred.
