Work Place Flexibility: Onsite

This position will be preferably domiciled in The Woodlands TX but other locations in the Entergy service territory may be considered based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Responsible for managing the project engineering team that is responsible for managing the detailedengineering and design of major strategic capital projects that range in value of $20 million to $2 billion Entergys interest in managing external engineering and construction firms that in the ofengineering procurement and construction contracts. Directs and coordinates Entergy engineering staffpersonnel in the review and approval of project engineering decisions designs and alternatives developed byengineering and construction firms.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversight of engineering procurement and construction firm activities to assure that project engineering design and procurement is performed in accordance to project specifications design criteriapermits codes and standards.
- Oversight and coordination of the services of engineering firms serving in the Owners Engineer role in projects.
- Coordination the review and approval of project engineering design and procurement activities including evaluation of alternatives concurrence and approval of recommendations.
- Coordinating the review and approval of project design drawings from the engineering and construction firm and/or the equipment manufacturer.
- Oversight of the engineering and design process to assure schedule compliance and contract compliance.
- Takes direction from the project director or project manager for assigned projects.
- Oversight for the corrective action program.
- Leads the of the MISO generation interconnection agreements with the project teams.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor or Science Engineering
Minimum experience required of the position
- 15 years experience in the engineering/design of industrial facilities.
Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required of the position
- Must be educated experienced and capable of making decisions that may result in a substantial financialimpact to the company.
- Must be an excellent communicator skills in managing large outside engineering firms.
Any certificates licenses etc. required for the position
Desired:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
