Position Information: The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets is seeking a Budgeting Analyst Trainee in the Division of Fiscal Management located at 10B Airline Drive Albany NY 12235. This position will be responsible for preparing agency budget estimates program justifications and workload forecasts narrative and tabular reports indicating agency expenditure components and monitoring agency expenditures in assigned areas. In addition this position will provide staff support to agency program managers and administrators recommend alternative fiscal plans and forecast the adequacy of available fiscal resources to meet longterm needs. Incumbents may supervise clerical staff engaged in budget preparations support activities. The Budgeting Analyst Trainee is a fulltime position working 37.5 hours per week MondayFriday. This position offers the opportunity for a parttime telecommuting schedule. Salary: The starting salary for the Budgeting Analyst Trainee 1 is $53764/ year and the hiring salary for the PEF salary grade (SG) 14. This position requires the completion of a twoyear traineeship. After successful completion of the first year of the traineeship the appointee will advance without examination to the Trainee 2 level SG16 (starting salary of $59994. Completion of the second year of the traineeship will result in permanent advancement to the Senior Budgeting Analyst SG18 (starting salary of $66951 without examination. The candidate appointed at the Senior Budgeting Analyst SG18 level will be eligible to participate in the New York State Performance Evaluation Program. Through this program employees receive yearly performance evaluations. Performance advances may be payable to PEF employees whose base annual salary is below the job rate for their current position and who were rated Satisfactory or its equivalent on their yearly performance evaluation. Performance advance payments are added to an employees annual salary. Over time yearly performance advances may lead to the SG18 job rate salary of $85138/ year!
