  • 1x Fulltime ongoing position for a Senior Lecturer or an Associate Professor
  • Salary Academic Level C $135814 $ 156608 or D $163538 $ Super depending on qualifications and experience
  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About You


Associate Professor:

The Associate Professor will provide leadership and foster excellence in teaching and research efforts of

the School within the University and with the community professional commercial and industrial sectors. More specifically the Associate Professor is responsible for providing original innovative and

distinguished contributions to the Schools programs for maintaining and advancing their scholarly research and/or professional capabilities relevant to this discipline at a national and international level.

The Associate Professor will also teach and make a significant contribution to teaching and learning in the discipline with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students. The Associate Professor will make a significant contribution to the planning and strategic direction of the School taking on academic leadership roles involving participation in various committees within the School College and University and external to the University as appropriate. The Associate Professor may be appointed as Deputy Head of School/Dean for a specific discipline or to provide strategic leadership for learning and teaching or research and scholarship.

Senior Lecturer:

The Senior Lecturer will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School. The incumbent is to make a significant contribution to the delivery of programs and to be actively involved in research consulting and other professional activities. The Senior Lecturer will develop engage in and lead high quality research projects that are aligned with the Universitys research focus areas to achieve success in attracting research funding and to produce high quality outputs. The Senior Lecturer will have an important research leadership role in embedding their research expertise into the life of the School and will be required to develop highquality productivitydriven networks across RMIT and with local national and global internal and external partners. The Senior Lecturer may have responsibility for program management.

To be successful for Level D youll have as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to studentcentred learning and quality improvement programs.
  • Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets and emerging international recognition in supply chain management.
  • Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead scholarly development and manage and supervise academic teams and members.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial governance and quality management systems within a university.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives external bodies produce executive reports negotiate agreed directions outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability as an effective member of a management team that develops and achieves shared goals and objectives.
  • An indepth knowledge of Supply Chain Analytics including mathematical modelling optimisation and/or machine learning and/or decision sciences.
  • Advanced expertise in developing supply chain solutions using Python optimisation libraries (e.g. CPLEX Gurobi) and/or machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow PyTorch Scikitlearn).

To be successful for Level C youll have as a minimum:

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and prepare and delivery programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including high quality curriculum and program materials and ability to implement innovative approaches to studentcentred learning and quality improvement. An ability to manage a large program or a number of small programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to support student issues related to effective learning and extensive experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.
  • Emerging nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets.
  • Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort and manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage academic program team supporting scholarly development of less experienced academic staff and a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to financial governance and quality management systems within a university.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives external bodies produce executive reports negotiate agreed directions outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
  • An indepth knowledge of Supply Chain Analytics including mathematical modelling optimisation and/or machine learning and/or decision sciences.
