ABOUT BIOACTIVES
Bioactives are compounds found in plants fungi and bacteria that benefit human health. They are an important part of a nutrient dense diet and their health impact often goes beyond basic nutrition into disease prevention. Some bioactives are only accessible through complex interactions within the gut microbiome. Science has long known that bioactives are critical to human health yet the vast majority remain unknown and are often referred to as the dark matter of nutrition. We built Forager to uncover them.
ABOUT THE ROLE
With a passion for how nature can improve our overall health and wellness this role offers a blend of both technology and ingredient sales. The sales team is responsible for driving profitable revenue by bringing both our portfolio of ingredients and Forager products to our customers. As an Account Manager on the sales team you play a pivotal role in executing the companys strategic growth plans in the CPG and supplements markets for ingredient sales and you will collaborate with industry leaders to leverage Foragers products to solve unmet data and product development needs across food CPG consumer health OTC Rx and other adjacent industries. Your responsibilities encompass servicing existing accounts and developing new business to meet sales revenue objectives. This necessitates close collaboration and partnership with key departments including R&D Product Management Food Scientists Manufacturing Operations and Product Marketing to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach that aligns with overarching business goals.
YOUR IMPACT
- As Sales Account Manager you will be focused on growing existing house accounts and building a pipeline of new direct sales accounts to progress business opportunities and achieve revenue budget and growth targets.
- Use markets/trends to build a strong and sustainable pipeline of opportunities with aggressive conversion rates across diverse industries such as food and beverage nutraceutical CPG pet foodconsumer health dietary supplements and other adjacent marketplaces.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
- Gather and communicate changes in the marketplace and customer behaviors to guide the business on key learnings which may lead to increased conversions.
- Work independently to solve issues as they arise engaging the broader team as needed.
- Maintain strong lines of communication to collaborate to deliver results.
- Develop and implement an account plan present and negotiate commercial offerings based on marketing strategy.
- Develop manage and nurture strong working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and Decision Makers while staying informed about current and upcoming regulatory compliance requirements.
- Represent Brightseed at industry trade shows and conferences throughout the year by quarterbacking booths logistics followup etc.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Manager/Senior Manager: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree; or 6 years and a Masters degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
- Progressive experience in business development product development strategy or sales within biopharma consumer health or CPG/nutrition required.
- Experience partnering with technical sales to effectively present to technical and non technical audiences.
- Experience working closely with consumer insights application scientists and marketing to identify clear opportunities at market level and customer level.
- Experience with complex deal structuring involving value sharing terms IP use and milestone payments.
- Proven track record of managing a sales pipeline generating new business and exceeding sales targets showcasing your ability to drive growth and achieve exceptional results.
- Track record of scoping structuring and managing deals as well as strategic account management at VP or CXO levels.
- You are creative and work well with intense timelines and a healthy dose of ambiguity in a highly technical field.
- Experience working closely with research functions with demonstrable ability to translate scientific data and results into relevant commercial insights.
- Strong interpersonal influence communication and presentation skills to represent Brightseeds value proposition and mission.

- Exceptional relationshipbuilding skills enabling you to cultivate strong and enduring connections with clients establishing yourself as a trusted partner.
- Experience with HubSpot Jira and other related business sales tools.
- Exhibit a selfstarting entrepreneurial orientation to drive a high performance nimble approach to building our business.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time.
- Ability to travel 40 50 and possession of a valid driving license for conducting businessrelated travel.
COMPENSATION
- The potential base salary range for this position when annualized is $170000 $200000.
- The total target compensation includes a base salary and commission based on the achievement of goals and milestones established by the Company.
- Compensation for this position is commensurate with relevant qualifications and work experience academic credentials job related skills employment location and other factors.
