Description This position reports directly to the Head Womens Bowling Coach and is responsible for providing coaching and administrative assistance to the Head Coach while serving as the Womens Bowling contact for assigned athletic support areas.

Vanderbilt Universitys Athletics Department prepares studentathletes to become leaders and champions in life by placing the highest values on integrity character sportsmanship and victory. Vanderbilt is a charter member of the Southeastern Conference and is the conferences only private school. The university fields 16 varsity teams 6 mens teams and 10 womens teams a total of 351 student athletes) 14 of which compete in the Southeastern Conference.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program to include adhering to all Departmental policies and procedures as well as the rules and regulations of the University Conference and the NCAA
- Assists in coaching studentathletes which includes evaluating their performance in both practice and competition and providing leadership and instruction in areas of deficiencies as required
- Assists with the scouting and recruitment of studentathletes including oncampus visits of prospective studentathletes
- Monitors the conditioning and training of studentathletes in conjunction with the Strength and Athletic Training staff
- Counsels team members in academic disciplinary and personal matters to include consulting with the Director of Academic Support in Athletics the Director for Compliance and other University administrators to resolve problems
- Participates in the collection and analysis of tactical and statistical data of opponents and assists in designing game plans and strategies.
- Attend coaches preparatory meetings and implements strategies resulting from these meetings
- Advises and counsels with studentathletes regarding their obligations to comply with all rules and regulations related to financial aid and eligibility
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Womens Bowling Coach
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree is necessary.
- Previous coaching or playing experience at the Division I level is preferred.
