We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented Industrial Engineer COOP to join our Operations and Quality teams. This role is designed for students looking to gain handson experience in industrial engineering practices with a focus on improving operational efficiency and ensuring quality standards. As a COOP you will work closely with our Operations and Quality Assurance teams to support ongoing projects analyze processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

As a coop onsite at Powerex you will work in office engineering lab and assembly line/manufacturing environments. To be successful in this coop you will need to be open to a variety of activities that support the Operations and Quality teams and embrace new challenges that will come as you gain experience. Example tasks based on coop experience level are below.

  • Process analysis and improvement. Assist in analyzing existing manufacturing and operational processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop document and implement process enhancements.
  • Collect and analyze data related to operational performance and quality metrics.
  • Utilize statistical and engineering tools to support datadriven decisionmaking.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problemsolving for qualityrelated issues
  • Support the Quality Assurance team in conducting inspections and audits.
  • Participate in crossfunctional project teams to support various initiatives and projects
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction
  • Assist in the implementation of Lean methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suiteand familiarity with engineering software is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Detailoriented with a proactive approach to problemsolving and process improvement

Work Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse the employee can be exposed to noise. The noise level is usually moderate but hearing protection may be required in designated areas.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand walk and sit. The employee will use hands to handle or feel objects tools or controls reach with hands and arms climb stairs balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and to use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
